Hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids. There I said it. I used to laugh about this and think this was for old people. Well, I guess I am old now, as I now have them. Talk about painful and itchy.
So, I looked for some cream for relief and read the ingredients as I learned in your webinar.  I was shocked. I put it down and went back home. 
I remembered the post you wrote about the 3 things you should have in your medicine cabinet and I started to try Neemo.
I put some on a round cotton pad and tucked it in. WOW! It immediately helped to calm the pain down. It also stopped the itching. BUT, I didn’t have much left of Neemo. So I switched to the boo-boo stick. That worked good too, but the Neemo worked better because the boo boo stick didn’t spread out very well on the pad. I then ran out of that and switched to the Mom Balm. That was also a winner. It spread very easy and calmed it down as well. I feel it healing, but I will need to restock!
I can’t compare to the store brand, as I never used it. But these three worked well and I know they will not hurt me.

So me being me…I looked up a typical over the counter cream. Here is what I found:

• Mineral Oil, 14%;
• Petrolatum, 74.9%
• Phenylephrine HCl, 0.25%

Inactive Ingredients:

I looked up some of the ingredients on the www.EWG.org.
They rate ingredients as well (10 is the worst)
Petrolatum 75% - rated 4/10 on EWG

• Use restrictions,
• Non-reproductive organ system toxicity

Butylated Hydroxyanisole 5-6/10 on EWG (BHA)

• Human endocrine disruptor - strong evidence,
• Persistence and bioaccumulation
• Non-reproductive organ system toxicity
• Possible human carcinogen.

Propylparaben - rated 9/10 on EWG

• Human endocrine disruptor.
• Human immune toxicant or allergen.
• Possible human reproductive or developmental toxin.

Mineral Oil 1-3/10 on EWG - 14% - Petrolatum

• (liquid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum).
• Human immune and respiratory toxicant or allergen - strong evidence.
• Possible human immune system toxicant or allergen
• Non-reproductive organ system toxicity

Paraffin (more Petrolatum)

• solid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum.

Methylparaben 3-4/10 on EWG

• Human endocrine disruptor.
• Interferes with gene expression.
• Human immune toxicant or allergen.
